1) Start with the piece at the top of the window under the break light. 2) Now, start to remove the piece of trim from down the side on which you need to replace the clip. Once you have removed the required trim, you should have enough leverage to wiggle the old clip out from the body of the car.
Once that comes down, there is going to be a metal frame that follows. Take note of how this attaches and save it. 10. To get the headliner out of the car, if you have a hatch you can try pulling it out that way. If not, the front passenger side will do. Move and squirm your way till the headliner is at a 45' angle.
Carefully unclip the heater controls (3 clips) and pull the fascia forward to access the wires behind. Unplug whatever you feel is necessary to easily access the lighter socket and lighting ring. The back of the socket will have a twin connector as in the photo below, the illuminated ring will be one wire (not shown)
