The PCM sends a ground signal to the glow plug relay to activate the relay and send power to the glow plugs. Test the small posts on the GPR to see if you're getting a ground signal to one of them when the ignition is first

Thats why the glow plugs heat up. The contacts inside the relay are probably worn and/or oxidized and causing high resistance which takes current away from the glow plugs and is hard on the battery's. The minute delay is normal. That is just the PCM telling the relay to shut down after heating the chambers with the glow plugs. Step 8: Attach the power supply. Reattach the wires that supply the glow plugs with power. These should screw or clip into place in exactly the same way you removed them in step 4. Step 9: Replace the valve covers. Replace the valve covers or anything removed in the process of accessing the glow plugs.
The ECM throws P037D and associated codes when it monitors a condition outside of a specific range within the glow plug circuit. Most of the time, I would say this would be an electrical issue but some mechanical problems could affect your glow plug circuit on some makes and models.
